As a Communication Studies major here, you will gain and, more importantly, produce knowledge, as well as develop and refine skills essential to the professional, social, and personal spheres of your life. We offer a wide-ranging curriculum taught by vibrant faculty who share a strong commitment to social justice, equity, and inclusion. Areas of study include conflict management, dialogue, and mediation; culture, gender, sexuality, and communication; group and organizational communication; interpersonal and family communication; language and social interaction; performance studies; public speaking and argumentation; research methodologies; and, rhetoric and political communication.

Our department has a renowned forensics team, an excellent internship program, and a lively student organization, Communication Studies StudentAssociation (CSSA), that organizes events for students and fosters collaboration and networking among students.
