|Are there any prerequisites to these upper division courses for the major?||Prerequisites for MATH 301 are MATH 227 and ENG 214 with a grade of C or better. Prerequisite for MATH 325 is MATH 227 with a grade of C or better; CSC 230 or MATH 301highly recommended.|

Freshmen majoring in the B.A. Degree program with the concentration in Liberal Arts should take:
Mathematics Pathway 2 students that are eligible for MATH 226* should take it in their first semester. Pathway 2 students not eligible for MATH 226 should take MATH 199*. Pathway 3 and 4 students should take MATH 197 in their first semester and MATH 198 in their second semester.
CSC 210* Introduction to Computer Programming or
CSC 309 Computer Programming for Scientists and Engineers.
*1-unit Supplemental Instruction courses (SCI) are offered for these classes as additional support. These courses can be found in the SFSU Class Schedule (https://webapps.sfsu.edu/public/classservices/classsearch) by searching for the SCI prefix.

Students may have to take a Calculus Readiness Test to enroll in MATH 226.
Can any of my AP or IB tests count toward requirements in this major?
||Students who received at least 3 on the AP Exam in Calculus will receive 4 units of credit for Calculus I.|
